Homestead National Monument of America is a national park site dedicated to telling the epic story of how homesteading impacted the people, land and world. It is located near Beatrice, Nebraska on the site of the first homestead claim in the United States. The park represents all 30 states that homesteaded.  Homesteading was the frontier of the past and space is the present and future frontier.  The park's interpretive theme for 2019 is "Innovation in Technology during Homesteading".  The homesteading era is 1862 through 1986 when homesteading was repealed.
